Anticipatory Mobile App for U.S. Bank

With customer centricity was the heart of the new app strategy, the bank realized it needed a new way to operate that got to customer needs and insights more quickly than ever before. For the mobile app program, we adopted a journey-based orientation structure where we set up 6 teams comprised of product, business, design, research, data and engineering teams all working in the agile methodology. These teams collaborated on different parts of the app, tested features with customers on a regular basis, and constantly iterated through two-week sprints to arrive at the best solution for the customer and the business. Our six teams crossed four geographies, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Oakland, and Noida, due to location of the best talent to work against the required speed of the initiative. The goal was to get the app to market in less than a year, which we accomplished by releasing iOS in March 2019 and Android in August 2019.
